How to Open the Emoji Keyboard on Your Computer

Emojis are built directly into both Mac and Windows. No extra tools required. Just a keyboard shortcut and you have quick access whenever you need it.

On a Mac

  1. Place your cursor where the emoji should appear.
  2. Press Control + Command + Space.
  3. The emoji picker will open.
  4. Click any emoji to insert it.

Tip: Use the search bar to type a keyword like heartcheck, or smile to find the emoji faster.

On a Windows PC

  1. Place your cursor where the emoji should appear.
  2. Press Windows key + . (period)

    or Windows key + ; (semicolon).

  3. The emoji panel will open.
  4. Click the emoji you want to insert.

Tip: Start typing a keyword like starfire, or party to quickly locate the emoji you need.

Once you use the shortcut once or twice, it becomes second nature. A simple way to add code matching on the backend, visual cues, or a bit of personality to your text. 🙂✨
